I decided to start blogging about Jordan from the moment I found out I was pregnant. Jordan was born with a little arm that didn't grow like most babies. Her left arm stopped just above the elbow. Now I'm committed to making sure Jordan gets everything out of life. We feel blessed to be the parents of a very special little girl.

Special Exposure Wednesday

I've been out of town for a number of Wednesdays... So I figured I could add an additional picture of Jordan working with her new arm. She has three different hands. This is the one she really needs to work on with her occupational therapist. It was awesome to watch them work together this week and see how Jordan can really catch on how to make it work... She just needs encouragement to use it. During lunch, she was encouraged to use her "hand" to help push her peaches into a spoon. It was a little hard for me to watch. But she's a trooper and I know she'll find a way to make this all work as she grows.

I'm so proud of how big Jordan is getting... She's decided she will only swing on her brother's swing. And what's even cooler - she let him push her a little over the weekend. She's been so skittish about swings, I was really excited to watch this little moment!

Jordan is periodically interested in hair bows... But during the football game last weekend she decided her bow was more interesting in dad or mom's hair. I caught a moment between Jordan and her dad that is worth sharing.

This is my favorite moment at the water spray park on Labor Day. She is SO dang funny.
Nothing is going to stop her and I'm pretty certain she'll figure out a way to do a head stand.

I mentioned I took the kids hiking this past weekend... This was the first time I really let Jordan hike along with her brother an I. We started with her in the backpack, but she didn't stay in there for long. She really held her own and I was very proud. The trail was really bumpy and she never fell down. We even climbed into a cave. That's when I took this picture. She's standing on a rock even though you can't really see any proof that she's in a cave!

Special Exposure Wednesday

I mentioned in an earlier post, but I wanted to share Jordan's happiness while she danced during a school event this past weekend. She is so into music and dancing... The joy in her eyes is so worth the knowledge that I will have years of buying dance recital outfits and expensive classes.

Special Exposure Wednesday

I stumbled upon this awesome idea from the blog 5 Minutes for Special Needs. It's a chance to show a cool moment of our kidlets through photos. Special needs is a tough word for me to swallow sometimes even though Jordan is two and a half and we've had a long time to digest what her differences mean in this world. She does need special things every once and a while. But thanks to her stubbornness, those special needs aren't as obvious as you would think.

Here's a sweet moment when we were at the beach in Maine. She was so happy she started dancing. It's her newest love and she's getting stronger at jumping and spinning every day... She's figuring out her balance!

It was so fun to watch - The picture doesn't tell half of it.
